In line with the Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, companies are increasingly conducting HRIAs as a critical first step in their human rights due diligence processes. Companies are then expected to address the identified potential and actual adverse human rights impacts. As result, they face the new challenge of what effective mitigation looks like.
During this event, we’ll examine ways to stay engaged while taking the time to address the issues, including questions such as:
- How should business balance the risks and benefits of continued engagement?
- How can companies work with business partners and government contacts to mitigate actual and potential impacts?
- What is best practice for conducting meaningful engagement in high-risk situations?
We hope you will join 黑料正能量 and speakers from civil society and business to explore these questions. The format will include a plenary panel and roundtable discussions.
