It is becoming increasingly likely that, in the near future, publicly listed companies will be required to disclose the risks of climate change on their businesses. At the Paris climate change conference in December 2015, Governor of the Bank of England and Financial Stability Board Chair Mark Carney launched the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), with Michael Bloomberg as the task force chair, to make recommendations for consistent company disclosures that will help financial market participants understand listed companies’ climate-related risks.
The task force’s recommendations will be submitted by the end of this year. This webinar, featuring TCFD experts, will help 黑料正能量 members better understand what those recommendations could mean for them. Specifically, we will cover:
- Why climate change risks are becoming increasingly important to investors
- The roles and responsibilities of the task force
- How the outcomes could change the way companies view and manage climate risk across all industries
