EU Omnibus and Implications for Human Rights Due Diligence and Reporting (EU)

In Partnership with Shift

Many companies are currently preparing their first sustainability reports under the EU’s Corporate 黑料正能量 Reporting Directive (CSRD) and taking first steps towards implementation of the Corporate 黑料正能量 Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD). However, on 26 February the European Commission will present a set of proposals to ‘simplify’ and ‘streamline’ these laws. The so-called ‘Omnibus’ may have profound implications for businesses.

While it is important and necessary for that implementation is manageable, There is a risk that the proposals will undermine the CSRD and CSDDD’s alignment with the international due diligence standards. This alignment ensures that EU law is based on standards that companies know and have worked with for more than a decade and are likely to result in better outcomes for people and the planet.

Shortly after the publication of the EU Omnibus, our friends at Shift will host two business webinars to discuss early responses to the proposals from the perspective of human rights due diligence and reporting. You can register using the links below for the session that best suits your time zone. Feel free to share this invitation with colleagues, other companies, or business associations.
