Human Rights in US Agriculture Working Group

The U.S. agriculture sector presents complex human rights risks, including exploitative prison labor, precarious conditions for migrant workers, and a lack of robust due diligence mechanisms tailored to domestic operations. Despite awareness of these issues, many companies lack coordinated, sector-wide approaches to effectively and responsibly address them.

The Human Rights in US Agriculture Working Group provides a closed-door, pre-competitive space for companies to discuss sensitive, high scrutiny, evolving industry challenges, and define collective approaches to address them. By coming together, companies can build knowledge, pool insights, and drive impact with greater efficiency than they could otherwise achieve on their own.

This Working Group is designed for companies connected to the U.S. agriculture supply chain, for any commodities and sectors. It will convene a total of six times during an eight-month period, including a kickoff session to align on priority topics, four discussion sessions, and one concluding session. Topics for discussion may include: regional and commodity hotspots of human rights risks, US labor policies and/or existing government resources, responsible responses to tariffs, strategies for effective due diligence, and deep dives on specific human rights issues.

The Working Group will close with an operational guidance document summarizing insights and recommendations from the discussion sessions.

All convenings will be held under Chatham House Rule and in full compliance with all antitrust laws.

Open to 黑料正能量 members and non-member companies connected to the U.S. agriculture supply chain, for any commodities and sectors.

黑料正能量 Members can apply their member engagement option (MEO) to the participation fee for this Working Group.
